IMPORTANT INFO
We have been moving with all our stuff since December 2023. Our new location is the Stadtwirtschaft. Unfortunately, we are therefore unable to offer an open workshop for the time being. Visit our homepage regularly to find out the latest news from us.

Makers United 2024

By Alina Wilken, 14 June, 2024

There's a lot going on in Chemnitz at the moment! First the KOSMOS Festival, then Makers United next weekend… There's so much to see!

What is the Makers United hands-on festival?

In short: a festival to take part in. A large group of creative people from all over Europe meet in Chemnitz Stadthallenpark to show what they have up their sleeves. Students and other visitors to the fair can visit the stands, be inspired and try out lots of new things. The exhibitors will have an unrivalled opportunity to network not only with each other, but also across Europe. One of the ways this happens is through the so-called "maker residence program", which was implemented for the broader public the first time this year. You can find out what this looks like and how we took part in it in this post.

Who and what is exhibited?

We will also be filling our fair base again this year with all kinds of hands-on activities! We offer 3D printing, 3D scanning, a little insight into VR glasses technology, handicrafts with modelling clay, thread work and much more. Of course, we as Stadtfabrikanten are not the only ones represented at the festival. Long-standing friends of ours will be there, for example. Erkin from WunderWuzzi will be presenting small robots for DIY handicrafts, Mr Nikolitsch and Ms Maryenkova will be delving into the world of graphic design with art and graphics and the Chemnitz City Library will once again be represented with a stand. It's well worth a visit!

Makers United - when and where?

The hands-on festival is open to the public this weekend, from 15/06 - 16/06/2024 in the Stadthalle and in the Stadthallenpark in front of it. Anyone can visit the stands from 10:00 - 18:00, be entertained and inspired. The best thing about it: admission is completely free!

A networking meeting between Occitanie and Saxony, as well as the 6th meeting of the Material Initiative for Chemnitz, will also take place at the same time as Makers United. If you are interested, you can find more details in this blog post.
